Stream.JoinWeb uses an advanced "Synchronous-When-Optimal" routing service to stream your media around the congested public and private exchange points on the Internet. These exchange points are the primary cause of latency and packet loss (which contributes to rebuffering of your media). The routing technology we use continuously monitors the traffic situation over all the major Internet backbones and routes mission-critical data in a faster, more reliable and better managed fashion than conventional Internet technology. Our Streaming Operations Center is directly connected via OC3s and DS3s to almost every major backbone on the Internet. Combining this routing intelligence with our "one-hop" proximity to the Internet enables Stream.JoinWeb to deliver your media with a level of performance not found at your typical Internet Service Provider.
Stream.JoinWeb's Systems
The modular architecture of our Streaming Operations Center places your media on a system that enables 99.9% uptime. Using load-balancing technology, Stream.JoinWeb provides high performance and multiple redundancies over multiple high-powered streaming servers, dedicated for every format. This enables Stream.JoinWeb to minimize single points of failure of our system. We also deploy an independent alarm-monitoring service from Kenote Systems, Inc., that activates pagers carried routinely by selected staff on-call, should a server fail.
Stream.JoinWeb's Storage
Stream.JoinWeb also utilizes the most advanced storage technology available. At the heart of our streaming operations is a multi-terabyte, scalable, Storage Area Network (SAN) incorporating Fibre Channel technology that maximizes data transfer speeds while preserving integrity of your data with RAID 5 security. We also deploy an automated tape backup system that provides additional security for your data. By combining our high-performance storage area network, with our load-balanced streaming media architecture and our intelligent routing service, Stream.JoinWeb enables you to play your video and audio on your Web site with a quality unequaled by traditional ISPs, and at a price far less than the distributed networks.
